Economy

October 7th, 2008

I’m a little freaked out about this global financial collapse, but I’m not sure why.

Part of me thinks that wiping the slate clean is the best thing that could happen to us, the other part of me is reminding that part of me that even if that happened, we’d still have cities.

Political Poser

August 29th, 2008

So I have always been interested in politics as a system of control, but have always felt like I was above the squabble of American politics in a way. I never thought that I would ever give a fuck who was president, until Obama. The guy honestly gives me goosebumps (in a good way) when he speaks. He hasn’t said how yet, but he’s said what he wants, and so far I agree. I can’t describe how remarkable that is for me. I’m willing to give the man a try, which is a lot more than I can say for any other presidential nominee ever. I hated Clinton and I hated Kerry, I didn’t trust either of them from the beginning, but for some reason I totally believe that Barack will change the day to day life of everyone in this fucked up country of ours in a positive way.

I am not only going to register to vote this year, I am actually going to vote.

My take on the Olympics

August 11th, 2008

I’ve watched almost an hour of coverage so far this time, I probably wouldn’t have seen any of it, but then I found out that BADMITTEN (Badminton) IS AN OLYMPIC SPORT!!! Also, we found out last week that we have cable and didn’t know it.

But now I think I’m done this time around. I got sucked into the badmitten and ended up watching swimming for a while and volleyball and women’s softball (which was actually kind of cool, but the commercials just kill my attention span for it).

So for the rest of these games I’m going to following what’s going on by how loudly the neighbors in the house behind our place clap and yell at the TV when someone does something good.

Dark Tower Art Project

August 11th, 2008

I’ve started making some Dark Tower related Photoshop art. Right now I’m working on a few pieces for it, and I have 25-30 more that I’d like to do. Its another one of those long term project. I gotta find models to take pics of and find some nice looking fake 6-shooters.

The Drawing of the Three: The Doors

They still need tweaking. I might have to use different doors for all of them, and the text needs to show through more, but they’re in a place now that I don’t mind showing them to other people.

More to follow.

Tony sent over a couple more polished images for the San Diego book. They are both rather sweet, one has a sort of Tarzan kind of feeling, and the other kind of reminds me of something from the Dark Tower, if Roland had been a caveman. San Diego is rapidly approaching. I’m hopefully going to make the little handout books this weekend. Woot!

Rhet is coming…

Tony sent over a few more images today!

There is still a lot of fine tuning and writing that need to be done before Comic Con. It looks like now if we do show anything to anyone at Con it will be just concept and some writing. My feeling is that we should self publish it or put it online for free.
